How Should You Handle the Financial Implications of Changing Attorneys Mid-Case?

The lawyer-client relationship is a multi-dimensional one that is partly professional to win a civil case, partly business, and partly a personal relationship that involves the client revealing confidential information about their life, career, finances, or relationships. When one aspect of this relationship is strained due to mistrust, incompetence or other factors, working together may be difficult or impossible, and the client may be forced to switch to another attorney. The change from one lawyer to another during a case has financial implications for both parties.
